Mark,

The short answer is "no".

The slightly longer version is that it is a "porting" problem, not so much a hardware problem. It is not as straight forward as loading the PC version of the ConZult diagnostic software onto a PDA and it's job done. Unfortunately there are a lot of different "portable" operating systems out there which makes it completely unfeasible to adapt the software to run on all of them. We'd end up with a dozen or so different versions of the software which would completely price it out of its market due to R&D time.

For more answers drop Eric (Lymon) a line as I'm sure he can explain it a lot better than I can.

LOL, my brains full up as it is, will take your answer as gospel Danny :)

y not just make one version for say palm os and do a package, say consult and a cheap palm?

Because then you'll get a million and one people wanting to have it ported to "their" OS ... We have to draw a line somewhere and for the moment we are NOT doing a PDA version.

This is a development which is not very high on our priority list as sales of the PC version is still strong. Besides, there is a very limited number of information you can display at any one time on a PDA screen and as the ConZult is primarily a DIAGNOSTIC tool it would defeat the purpose. There are some other applications on the market which run on PDA's but they only provide sensor feedback - no or limited diagnostic capabilities only.

Perhaps at some point in the future (when Microsoft has bought up Palm and Symbian) then we can look into providing a "PDA Package" deal. ;)

I'm sure in the dim and distant past I recollect Eric talking about a Palm version, but it probably got forgotten about due to limited demand (kinda like Palm!). I think the real issue is that it's not written in a language that has an easy port into any of the various pda OS's.

Not Conzult, but a piece of software called ECUTalk runs on laptops & PDA's (windows mobile ones only). It is developed by a guy here in Oz. Check http://www.ecutalk.com for more info. I bought an old HP ipaq just to run this software and it is absolutely awesome! I don't know how I lived without it.

Which ipaq did you use, as i am looking to get this now

I used a HP H5550 ipaq, but others here in oz have used H6515's and h2200's. As newkleer says just don't get a 1900 series unless it is the 1940 which does have serial connection.

Here is my install...CLICK HERE TO GO TO AUS300ZX.COM

i dont think the 1940 does either - it has bluetooth (and hence the serial over bluetooth), but i dont think it has the standard serial port

I have a spare H5450 if someone wants to make me an offer for it.

just bought an spv m2000 (xda 2s)

Had to order the serial cable, consult box and null modem adapter from the us

consult box came this morning!

ive had one user report random problems with spv m2000 with latest version :(

hopefully it was something specific to their setup...if u do have problems, try all older versions on the website (i think he said v1.2 worked ok).

mmm just tried it on the spvm2000 and all com ports execpt com3 dont connect

com3 gets stuck on connecting...

might try the earlier versions

have u tried the cable on a laptop just to confirm the cable and the car work fine with consult?

also try v1.2 - other guy said this worked best. i think itd be com1 also
