car started to run crap last night while down cruisin down the sea front. loses all power then picks up then again and again for about 30 seconds.

 

ticks over ok but if i dip the clutch and press the throttle the revs go up then its as though theres no fuel and the revs die then picks up again and dies again. this goes on for a minute or so then eventually it sorts itself out and is right as rain again, unusual

 

i have had the chip and ecu out on sunday, wondering if ive got everything tight, hope its that cos i,m gettin sick of things goin wrong :hurl: lol

 

it should be called an offroader

check the fuel line filters for debris (not sure if this is gospel but I seem to remember from a previos thread that the z has a small filter at the fuel pump inlet, I had this problem with a renault 5 turbo and it was this filter causing the trouble).

Also i might be the fuel pressure regulator, was the same thing with mine.

Stick with it mate dont forget its an old car.
