If a det sensor is faulty would it show up a code 34 or is this not always the case?

But had som issues with that myself. Got the code sometimes when the car had trouble starting. When it was wet or cold and the starter wouldn't kick in right away....

Its just it stared deting and ive tried everything else.

is it actually detting or you just getting code 34 all the time?

detting, no code 34 its reading clear 55 but some suggestions came back as maybe a faulty det sensor?

code 34 comes up when there is a problem with the wiring circuit or sensor, it's got nothing to do with if you're actually detting or not ;)

well.. it doesn't cause detonation, it may stop it temporarily by putting you into safety mode but that only works if it picks up detonation under 3000 rpm, it's ignored otherwise.

 

try checking your your timing and fuel pressure.

Timing has been retarded way back to 9deg! At 15deg it dets quite badly. How do i check fuel pressure?

Got feul pressure checked today and all is well there, Why do i have to run 9 deg to stop detting, any help would be great.. Coils , plugs n gaps, chip all good with no fault codes!!!! :headvswal

I think i'd be checking the timing next to make sure you haven't jumped a tooth or similar.

I was told if i jumped a tooth it should be a bit lumpy at the std 15deg. The cambelt was changed 12 months before i bought it though by ztech.
