right you may recall a while ago I had issues with the back heated window...

 

today since it was raining and my car was getting all steamy... (no funny business) i stuck the heated window thing on .... about 1 minute later i could smell this burning.. switched it off, turned around and looked at the window - the little element was red red hot... by the time I managed to turn around - huge bang !

 

Smashed rear window! :cry: If it wasnt for the tints it would of shattered everywhere!!

 

anyway - anyone had to replace theirs... where did you get it and is it worth claiming..

 

I've phoned a few places and been quoted £1050 plus vat to remove and fit a new one... :cry: :cry:

Just sorted something out via pm! Now just have to drive 134 miles at snail pace so it doesnt smash everywhere!

Sounds like you may have sorted it, if it falls through and you get one from AndyZ I can pick it up for you and get it to the M25.

Never ever heard of that before, check electrics before fitting another maybe?

Im all back home, safe and sound with a new back window!! All I need is new trim!

The old window didnt smash out on the way there..... infact it was rather difficult to take out!!

As for the trim, a complete new one is £!!!!!!, if you need the top piece the only place to go is Nissan, the lower part you can also get a universal one from any Autoglass place, its not identical to the Nissan one but close and cost arond £20, or I have the lower piece in very good condition but its shrunk so you would have to put up with a 5 - 10mm gap at the top, but at least it would be free.

£100 excess on mine... but that will fook my claims up - dammit! these cars dont come cheap!

 

Is that £100 on your policy or £100 on windscreens - as the excess on these is often cheaper.
