what's happening to web sites?

ive noticed over the last 48 hours strange things happening to web sites I commonly visit :confused:

last night BF2player.com went down, saying something about not being able to create a user session entry, now this morning Atari-Forum.com has exactly the same problem. and yesterday morning another site had a similar problem. is some nasty virus going around or something?

PS. a mirror site of Atari-Forum which I expect is held on an entirely different server has also gone down!!!
