hi peeps, had me 300 about 2 years, its a 1996 non turbo,auto,2+2 and i never got a manual with it but ive struggled to find a way to store the glass roofs in the boot in a way that stops em sliding, dont know if the manual would have shown how to but ive tried a few ways but im sure there must be a stock way! pictures would be superb but any answers would help! im aware this is a silly question but ive never been shown or told how to and they always seem to slide around a bit!

yes,in a v shape, seems like you have to stack them on top of each other and then strap em down but what way round to stack em? the strap doesnt seem to hold em tight enough! its a bit of a crappy strap to be honest.

ha ha,i know! its hard to describe but i normally put em,drivers side first, kind of normal way up,the end with the handle at the boot end with the passengers just on top of it the same way but they do slide and the other day before this crap weather started i heard a crunch in the boot whllst going round the corner and when i checked a bit of plastic had broke off the edge! pee'd me off! lol

I stack mine with the first one face down and the long edge facing the back. I then cover it with the bag, can never be bothered to put them in the bag, then put the other one the other way up and the other way round. They seem to slot together this way. I then pull the strap tight. This seems to hold them tight.

Think trial and error is you best bet though.

As you are in essex you sould come along to the next local meet, possibly the dick turpin next month, and we can all have a go. You never kow the weather might have improved by then.

You could always come along to the sow I am organising. Just see the link in my sig.

Riiiiiiiiiigghht then! In my handbook it shows a basic pic of the roofs in the MIDDLE of the boot with the strap in a triangular position with the point towards the front. IT SAYS... Place one panel over the other with thier locks positioned opposite and downward to prevent scratching the panels. DO NOT PLACE ANY HEAVY OR SHARP OBJECTS ON STORED PANELS LOL. Thats all it says hope this helps. THE PANELS LOOK LIKE THEY ARE WIDTH WAYS IN THE CENTER OF THE BOOT AND JUST FIT BETWEEN PLASTIC MOULDINGS .

ah width ways,so basically, how they lay on the roof but in the boot eh? if thats what you are saying then its logical i suppose, dont know how i missed it! its prob the only way i never tried it! lol cheers muffin! gonna try it now in the rain so my neighbours think im mad! lol

will do! lol my neighbour was walking by with his little boy the other day and he said to him"wow daddy..a ferrari" and his dad said" nah its a datsun" lmao! what a w****r!

i store mine as if i've taken them off the roof with inside bits (?!) pointing down towards the boot carpet. just like the previous posts....... mine don't slide about!

sorry if this reads a bit retarded! :nelson:
