n/a chip + suspension

reading some of the recent posts it seems that chrisc is the man for chips and johnny for suspensions. Can anyone give me contact details for them? my n/a import is still limited and i think i might as well get it chipped as it needs delimited anyway. also i was thinking of getting lowering springs, is it ok to just get springs or does this cause too much pressure on the rest of the suspension? should i just get a full kit? ive got my 19s going on and the car needs lowered so any feedback would be appreciated. its a 1990 and done bout 45000 miles.

You better think carefully about lowering with 19's. The camber angle becomes really critical with such low profiles. Unless you dont mind wearing out the inner edges of expensive 19" tyres after a couple of thousand miles only then go for it. Otherwise you also need to think on an adjustable set of top links front and rear to reset camber once you lower it.

You might need to re-think chip strategy. If you want power you are cheaper swapping an NA for a TT. Once you start modding the import NA it will cost as much to insure as any TT. Get hold of a Stillen catalogue or check their website.

Sorry willie im a bit thick when it comes to technical stuff and dont really understand about camber. I really want to lower the car on 19s, is there a way of doing this safely and if so what is it? surely if i fitted the koni adjustable suspension kit and reset the camber that would be ok wouldnt it?

have you got your 19s yet? got any pics?

I think your going to have problems with the camber adjustment.

As you have moved outside the maximum tolerence (in wheel diameter) that a zed suspension should really be bale to take.

Might experience the car jumping over the road a bit and bottoming out.

YOU LAG YOU DRAG

o great! so by going for 19s instead of 18s to be that lil but different im gonna fuck my car up? *sigh* ive not got any proper pics of them on the car but they r very sweet, its the rial cobra jpeg in my rides section. When i bought the wheels i wasnt given any advice at all about the sizes, just told that 19s would slip right on. frown.gif im spending some big money on my zed, prey i dont fuck the car up with 19s frown.gif

I know of at least two jap imports on which 19's won't fit. If you do a back-to-back comparison with a UK spec the japs seems to be a little lower. You may have to change some other stuff to get them to fit, so I wouldn't worry too much about lowering it right now.

ffs frown.gif frown.gif im more worried about fucking up my car now. i got told 19s would fit straight on no prob now it sounds like 19s r totally gonna fuck my car up. if the 19s go on easy and i dont touch anything else will it be ok?

Just dont lower it!

Oh and avoid potholes, white lines, cats eyes....etc!
