Hi all

Finally managed to do a boost leak check on the car and I seem to have a fairlybig one as above. Sounds like it's coming from around the battery area at the side of the engine.

Think it's quite big cause by pump can't presurise the system at all. The air is just leaking straight out. Just wondering if there's a pipe round there that usually goes?? I can hear it but can't find it!!! :headvswal

Any ideas would be appreciated!!

is the boost hose connected properly or is it split? try getting the car jacked up so you can get underneath, if you can find a garage freindly enough they mite put it up on a lift for you or look for a quick fit style place that offer a free exhaust check (just say you think it mite be blowing somewhere) and while its up in the air ask if you could pop underneath for a quick spy ;)

cool thanks

Can you tell me where about the boost hose connects to the turbo. I'm underneath it but don't know which one it is. They all seem to be metal???

ok the big black pipe at the front is where the air is blown away from the turbo and above that going into what looks like an alloy snail from the top there will be another hose, make sure these and anythin else connected to them is fitted properly and any clips holding them on are tight, make sure there arent any splits etc either.

p.s. im absolutely crap at trying to explain things :D so keep askin questions if you arent sure and if im not here to help im sure somebody else will

That was good thanks mate. Found the leak anyway and the system is holding pressure now which can only be a good sign..... Still not getting above 8psi of boost though

Cheers for your help though!!
