I was using Silkolene Pro S 10-50 But now im using Castrol rs 10-60, as i get it cheap from work..

Isn't it supposed to be 10-40w. Is it ok to go up on the hot number ?

Guess the turbo seals will fare better.

Mine has had Castrol GTX Magnatec since new... No reason to change. ( Nt kidding either!)

Nearly 17 years...

Hi I thought id make an addition to this thread, After running the Castrol rs 10-60 for a week i dont think is good for my Z compared to the Silkolene Pro S i was runnign before, With the castrol i am noticing a lot lot more engine noise and it runs different too (bad different), So I will be Changing the oil again very soon for Silkolene Pro S 10-50. Lots more expensive but imho it's worth every penny.

ive just had mine serviced and the oil changed and the guy put in millers xfs 5w-40 synthetic which he swore was the best! please dont tell me its not! erm so is it? (can of worms, can of worms, can of worms)

i have 15w40 semi in mine but will be changing it soon as it was a "get by" (long story) will be putting in 10w40 semi..

It all depends on the engine spec you have really and whether or not you doing track days or serious hard driving. If your running higher than standard boost I'd say a 10 50 fully synthetic or rack day car I'd go for 10 60 or 15 60 so that when you get some serious heat into the oil it isn't that thin it p1sses out through your PCV's and still has some Viscosity.

in the turbo cars i have owned i have always used 10-60 rs as i drive my car like its meant to be driven :D

although i have just used halfords 10-50 ideal for trackdays/fast road fully syntheitc normally £34.99 currently £21.99

This keeps the engine nice and smooth.

indeed it does bud, apparently all the 200 s13 engine uses it, prevents the common bottom end failure on the CA engine :D

Coconut oil actually Lol

ooooooops my bad, put some bounty in your car then :p
