I am having one of those days with my Auto Lol

I am so close to really taking it all out and dumping it :wack:

I keep getting this damn problem Pulling off at junctions ??(had this since Dec and still not sorted Lol)

It doe's not pull in first gear if i have stopped briefly!! It always starts from 2nd unless i have been parked/sat for about 30 minutes and then it operates fine from first

It refuses to kick down from 2nd to first! 3rd to second is fine! so is o/d to 3rd! Changes are fine and happen when they should apart from the above occaisionaly. If i manually change it is fine! but it sort of beats the whole point of having an Auto??! it can be quite embarrassing when it sticks in 2nd gear after stopping at a junction then trying to pull out quick.

TPS is fine and set correctly,Gearbox oil is changed when it should be and is fine in colour and smell, all gears manually change ok! aftermarket Oil cooler as well!!

So in short no kick down from 2nd to 1st and trouble pulling away from a junction only second gear engauges (like using the hold Button)

The only things i can think of myself is either the auto ecu is acting up or i have a sticking solenoid?

Anyone any other idea's? or had this problem themselve's? :smash: :hurl:

(I have thought about a Manual conversion Lol)

I rebuilt one on my previous 300zx with new clutch packs and a Brake band that controls 2nd and 4th gear(o/D) Would you believe an New brake band is only around £40 inc vat!!!??? Very common failier on these!! You always lose 2nd and O/D when this band wear's out  I always said if i ever had to drop one again i would never put and auto back in  :smash: :)

well there you go mate. good excuse to go manual

sounds silly but the kickdown switch is working ok??

Odd that it sits in second when you have stopped tho. Possibly a speed sensor acting up? im not entirly sure how the gearbox senses speed, but it must have a way, and i cant imagine it does it of the abs sensors... since if they packed up it would mean the gearbox would be as well...

Does your abs work ok?? lol

To be honest im guessing, but you can hopefully see my train of thought

Kickdown works in 3 and o/d but not 2 to 1. power switch does not seem to have any affect when switched on and power light comes on when you punch it! (Floor it)

speed sensor would not affect stationary.

I have also noticed lockup only engages in O/D and not 2nd and 3rd like it is supposed to so i have heard?

i have checked auto ecu for dry joints/bad contacts but nothing

Could buy another Auto ecu but i think it will be a waste of money as they rarely fail and i would imagine it is more than likely an Internal Gearbox fault ie: valve/solenoid fault at a good guess!

The Gearbox Diagnostic reads no error codes Either :wack:

must be goosed mate, go for a manual conversion. Or try fitting a shift at will, then tell me how you got on with it...

Have you seen those?? known as a "saw2" by ess racing. or something like. Seems a wicked idea, cheaper than a manual conversion as well!
