Hey,

Just after some generalised advice on a V6 twin turbo build.

I brought what was left of Marks G reg Red 300zx after everyone had stripped off the goodies and my intention for the car is soley as a track car stripped down to the bare minimum, just two bucket seats and the dials.

So far i've took out all the plastics that where remaining in the car when i brought it (if anyone wants those i'll let them go for next to nothing), took the air con out and all the heater matrix, aswell as all the associated hicas equipment, anything else for saving weight?

Which are the most reliable, high boost capable turbos that people have come across?

Links to roll cage designs, suspension specalists and engine parts mentioned etc would be great.

And has anyone used the idea of charge coolers on a Zed before and how effective was it compared to the standard?

Cheers guys, it'll help me put a plan together over the next couple months

Stephen :p

might be an idea to contact Slick Pete as I'm pretty sure he's going down the same road ;)

get rid of the glass in the tailgate. i'm sure you could replace it with perspex or something.

single side exit exhaust ........remove all glass and motor mechanisms , central locking solenoids and cables , and change for perspex , get some magnesium alloy wheels .....buy kirbz lightweight wheel studs,

if you have the money .......carbon ceramic brake discs .........

Get a magic tree air freshener - extra 20hp ;)

Remove the HICAS system and gubbings with a fixed bar. I think race type cars have the fuel tank removed and a special safety(ish) one put inside. Also the battery goes inside. have a fuel and leccy shut off switch, valve.

its not actually that heavy tbh but the spoiler is !

there was a thread with all the bit you could remove and how much they weigh, i did a quick search but couldnt find it. if someone does come across it could one of the mods put it in the FAQ section please

really? i would have thought it was heavier than the spoiler.

tis true...the rear glass is suprisngly light actually. THe tailgate itself is a heavy bugger......go for a Fibreglass or CF tailgate

hasn't the tailgate got a big weight in it somewhere?
