Does anyone have a guide for removing the full hicas system and fitting a eliminator bar please? I need to know whats involved and does the hicas light stay off once it's all gone? I've just got the bar and wondered if it was a straight forward job? :)

Not a huge job and yes if you cut the right wire on the Hicas controller it stops the light yet it still works for the low brake level warning. Remove the hydraulics, the actuator, the bypass valve, the main solenoids under the bonnet and simply feed the high pressure of the power steer pump back to the tank. That is assuming you don't have the electric version.

easier to make it right and keep it

It is a good system if you know what it does and you let it do it

i have just completely removed mine and done my own pump conversion which involves removing hicas pump vanes, very tidy and save shed loads of wait!

i never liked hicas as i thought it was slow to react and made it feel like the same as vw golf with knackered axle bushes!!

removal of all parts and any mods etc would probally take you 1 sat with lots of tea breaks!!
