This may not affect you at the moment but if this is not stopped now there may be a possibility that you may see this type of system implemented in your area.

 

Basically the blackwall tunnel was built in the Victorian times and has not changed much since then, this road is the main road into London and as you can imagine very busy, there has been something called a tidal flow system put in place since 1978 which is used each morning to help ease the traffic, basically it’s a third lane which is opened up, the government have now decided to stop this, this has caused mayhem and the whole area is grid locked everyday.

 

They say they have done this due to safety issues!!!

 

People are saying that its deliberately trying to mess up traffic flow in the area to ease the way for extended congestion charging and also a tunnel toll ?

Eileen for me the loss of the tidal flow is great as i travel against the traffic .. so im all for it .. means i can get to the marina and boat a damn sight quicker lol
