Well I've had 2 quotes for work on the car now, one from Paul at SWZ Performance and the other from a company in cardiff....

Paul's quote was a nice 2300, a tonne of stuff including new ecu/remap, blitz boost cntrl, suspension bushes all round...etc...

The cardiff based company wanted hust under 5K but this did include 550 injectors...

Mmmm...is something wrong with this picture. Cardiff price list:

1) Full service £376 inc vat

2) Timing belt replacement + 2 x bypass hoses £294.88

3) Apexi power fc ecu £687.38 inc vat / mapping time £499.38 inc vat

(INJECTORS)550cc NISMO - £646.25 inc vat /

4) Blitz boost controller spec r £370.13 inc vat / setup £235 inc vat

5) energy upper and rear arm bush £52.88 / labour £528.75 inc vat

6) Tein superstreet damper with top mounts £763.75 inc vat / fitment and alignment £293.75 inc vat

7) apexi induction kit fitted £120.00 inc vat

8) oil cooler for the auto box TBA

Are these prices reasonable????

Paul

Paul @ SWZ...I think at these prices you're getting the contract :)

235 quid to set up a bleeding boost controller?

yes i thought that 'n' all... There's expensive and then there's daylight robbery....been in touch with the company who quoted these prices and they're seeing what they can do to reduce costs...... I'd say buy a calculator where all the buttons work. Was hoping to get this done by Japfest....but it's looking increasingly unlikely now.

Some stuff doesn't look too bad, eg the timing belt change, others seem a bit steep though ....

You really ought to get a significant discount on labour if you were asking for that much work to be done in one go.

Mmm I wonder who that is????? Glad somebody listens for a change ;)

Even if other company could come anywhere near matching SWZ prices you would be crazy to go to them instead of our Club 300zx Specialist garage.

The guy doing the work is a Nissan Master Builder....He really known his way around a ZED...but the company (who shall remain nameless) don't have the best reputation. Maybe their work is great, but their costs are on the wring side of reasonable. :(
