DONT FLY RYANAIR. Don’t do it your going loose a lot of money

ok I have just got back from Spain for a quick 5 day trip to see my father who lives out there. Wife got tickets online from Ryan Air, got the taxi to Stanstead, got to check in and good grief what are all those people doing?

The floor around the RyanAir checking’s and I mean all of them was strewn with people unpacking bags and re-packing.?

When it was our time to check-in our 1 bag we found out why, baggage weight and we where over 6Kg at an extra cost of £40. Err No I am not paying that, we will go get another bag and transfer the luggage along with about 11 other couples and families. The cheapest bag we could find was £25, the counter assistants words where "RyanAir?" yes I replied, "yes they are sending a lot of extra business this way, we sell about 2-300 bags a DAY!"

Ok back to the check in, transfer items now we have to buy an extra luggage ticket from another desk for there and back £20 because we didn’t book it online. OK not a problem its clearly indicated on the booking forms. So now were £45 extra on the fair and only £5 less than going with BA.

Imagine our surprise that on the return flight we see the exact problem at RyanAir Valencia, people hurriedly re-packing bags to shift weight from 1 bag to another. The its our turn, but were confident as we weighed the bags at my fathers home and the larger bag is under by 1Kg. Plonk it on the conveyer...Poof were over by 2Kg that’s a 3 Kg increase during the car Journey. We, and I have to say another 5 people are querying the scales. But being Spain, we are met with the typical prissy attitude that the bloody Spaniards can display. Ok swap thing over. Done. Now I checked the weights according to the machine and wrote them down. I immediately checked the weights of the bags when I got home, surprise, surprise they are 2 Kg lighter.

Now I am going to let you lot read into this what you will, but if you want a cheap flight, I would stay the hell away from CONAIR

Oh incidentally try getting a email addy for the company, they seem to dislike people communicating with them for some "strange" reason.

QueasyJet aren't much better. I have often noticed that their scales read quite differently to my very accurate bathroom scales at home.

Good stuff - I'll be off to Copenhagen in a few weeks - make sure you look after that one ! ;)

never had a problem with ryan air, always on time, does exactly what it says on the tin. Stick to the rules and you'll be fine not a problem. it could be your scale at home that are out not the ryan air ones. My money is on yours at home cos the ones at the airport will be checked by the same people who do all of the other desks too not just the ryan air check in desk.

As for the maintenance side of things, i once had some training by a guy who was heavily involved in setting up maintenance proceedures and he had done a great deal of work with airline industries, he said he would fly ryanair all day every day.

Flew easy jet and ryanair at christmas, and having a small baby they exempted us from all the luggage regs, we were well over our limit, but they do not weigh in the buggy and all the babies bags, i was very relieved!

We even go priority boarding took the buggy up to the plane then hand it over to go straight in the hold, couldnt fault either of them realy.
