leave them in, but make sure there held in tight, a bit of locktite keeps them, as you don't want them popping off!

any reason why your questioning it ?

Hi Greg,

The pictures were to go with the post about them - I need the hoses as mine arent any good and I don't know if they are the correct ones as the engine has been in and out the car before I got it

I could use a wee bit of help again with this if anyone out there can.

The hose the mechanic took off at the back had a restrictor inside it and I am now wondering if the hoses I am now looking for are supposed to have restrictors too.

I am told that the rubber hoses are the crankcase ventilation hoses. There is one either side of the engine at the front and they come off of a black plastic pipe - below the intercooler and boost hoses - and seem to attatch to a metal pipe that then joins a block than sits on top of the engine.

I have pointed where they attach to in the photos to give you guys some ideas.

If anyone knows if they are restricted or not can you let me know?

either reply here or email me on cau96176@talktalk.net

Also if anyone has any spare ones lying about any chance I could buy them or any ideas where to get them from?

Cheers again,

Michael

you can replace all 5 hoses in the PCV systym, yes from nissan they have restrictors in, this is mainly an aid to prevent debris going through the engine

MJP in the traders section sell the full 5 hoses as a kit, worth changing the valves aswell, alot of old PCV valves are either clogged or not operating as they should, potentialy blowing oil seals around the engine. So worth a look

1 hose at the back of the engine

1 hose from plenum to plastic hose NS

1 hose from plenum to plastic hose OS

the other 2 hoses interlink the PCV valves from one bank of the plenum to the other
