Hello, im new to the forum and i could do with a bit of help..

Basicly, im a big nissan lover, ive had two Nissan Almera Gti's and one sunny GTI however i fancy a change, moving away from the sr20de engine all the above make use of..

I was seriously limited by insurance until this month when for some unexpected reason, they would insure me on a 300zx turbo but this where im confused.

Basicly, they will insure me on a nissan '300zx Turbo' but im really getting wound up because all the 300's i see are twin turbo's.. and yes its 1991ish ive been getting quotes on. Are they missing the 'twin' bit out or refuring to a totally different car?

Sorry to sound so dump to you 300 pro's but im blind in the dark here.

Cheers

could be the z31 which was a single turbo or na.

the z32 is either a tt or na be sure you say to the insurance 300zx for uk or fairlady for import.

i think some insurance companies class it just as a turbo regardless if its twin or single

and i think you mean z31 gaz? which was single turbo or na

Not strictly true

in the uk you have the

z32 300zx N/A

z32 300zx Fairlady N/A

z32 300zx T/T

z32 300zx Fairlady T/T

Same for the jap And american

All though i dont think there are any real difference between the models

Uk built zeds where never called Fairlady, they where just known as the 300zx only in japan where they called 300zx Fairlady, i think your find thats what hellraiser is saying, if you have seen any over here with Fairlady on the boot then chances are its an import

All Fairlady's are imports. All NA's are imports, All SWB are imports UK cars are all TT 2+2 Targa's.

Make sure you point out to the insurance company whether it is an import or not as the insurance cost will rise a lot if it is the import

yep

i'm gonna do some checking on this as i think they did do a N/a Uk but i could be wrong

check it for yourself you will find all the answers here click

plus...

2 seaters

slicktops

convertibles

all those are imports only

Thats why all the UK cars are hard b@st@rd cars no pansy N/A cars for us brits huh. no offence to N/A owners

All Insurance companies tend to list differnent models in there own "special" ways.

Fairlady=300zx . Fairlady was the name Nissan used in Japan, but not in the rest of the world. While there are minor differences in spec/trim between UK and Jap, the term "fairlady" is just a name.

For insurance purposes, if it says fairlady then its almost certaintly referring to an import. Z32 is Twin turbo only, insurance company just using its own naming policies.

Just be carefull with looking at insurance for an 1989 model, as it is the crossover for the Z31, Z32 and some have been caught out...same goes for UK vs Jap. Best way it just to phone them.

Houghtons, Admiral, A-plan,Liverpool Victoria, Adrian flux...are all popular 300zx insurers.

The 200sx and pulsar are certainly a lot cheaper to own/run/maintain/fix (insurance, parts, modifications, Fuel consumption)....but you do get what you pay for ;)
