Recently purchased new shape zafira 150 diesel and twice in 2 months management light has come on and car goes into limp mode or get me home mode.

Been told it is that particulate filter blocking up and i do not drive the car hard enough!!

The car is my wifes primarily and used for school run and shopping etc

Any guys know of an upgrade as my local main agent seem to dismiss this as a 1 off,but google the problem and it is not!

Cheers

My advise would be to go in and tell them to sort it, throw the keys at them and tell them to call you when its fixed and you want a courtesy car.

Dont accept anything else, if they try to tell you otherwise say you want to speak to the owner and you want a full refund. Make a fuss and get the treatment you deserve.

Just did a quick search an the idle speed control valve seams to come up a lot with the cutting out problem.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm is that the same as a egr valve that also seems the problem too?

Tried that earlier and pretty poor response basically told me that i have to give the car a rant up or over 60mph for about 15 mins every week :(

Not the answer i was looking for and if/when this fault reappears they will see to it or i will be contacting various motor organizations.

It could be very dangerous as i explained to the dealership that if i were to go onto a m/way or ring road and the fault occurs whilst in the fast lane this could be potentailey dangerous!

But all they said is we will look at it again if this happens :headvswal

sorry mate but you accepted that answer and walked away???

Think you need to go on an arse kicking course or something. Stand up to them and get what you want!

Apparently its a common fault on the 150bhp version of the diesel. Problem has also been found on other models with the same engine and as yet there doesn't seem to be a proper fix. Some people are being to told to take the car for a rag along the motorway to burn the carbon off, others have had to have an ecu reprogram.

It put me off buying the diesel Zafira so bought the missus an 06 plate 1.8 petrol instead as it has the new 140bhp vvti engine. Even the dealer admitted to us there seemed to be an 'issue'.
