It started a week or two after Jeff (zedworld) replaced the HICAS arms, when I took the wheel off to see if I could track it down the nut on the end was loose, checked the other side and that was the same.

Could that have caused damage to any other components?

Thank you in advance

HICAS is eliminated

And these are also installed

Adjustable camber arms

Adjustable traction bars

Whiteline anti roll bar

Buddy club adjustable coilovers

Another shedworld victim? The nuts are there to lock the hicas arms and stop them adjusting themselves. Have you had the shocks out? There is a gasket between the shock and the turret which stops creaking etc

Ahhhh sorry should have read your post better - it'll be the gaskets between the top of the shocks and the turret are missing ;) As for the nuts being loose, no it shouldn't have caused any damage BUT get the rear alignment checked ASAP or you could face forking out for a new set of rear tyres ;)

If you mean the nut that is on the ball joint then it should have a split pin through it as it is not a locking nut.

Not having the split pins in is damn stupid

Never even dreamed it was the balljoint nut - presumed it was the lock nut on the track rod!!!!! If its the one on the balljoint then yes it could well have damaged the trackrod end AND the balljoint...

I'm sure shedworld have a vey good excuse for this though, probably along the lines of 'you can't follow the service manual for these cars because the service manual was written for brand new zeds not 17 year old ones...'

Actually, they're online now perhaps they could explain?????

Thanks for the replies

I'll try and take the wheel off again tomorrow and take a pic of the ex-loose nut I've not had anything out other than what was neccesary to do the HICAS arms as far as i know

I assume it should be a relatively easy/cheap fix then?

Can I first point out, I have not taken these photos to get involved with any arguments, they are just for clarity of my problem.

The nut highlighted was the loose one, and the same on the other side.

There is a split pin holding this nut in place though

Sorry to revive this thread again

but would nissan stock this part?

I've enquired about buddyclub top mounts elsewhere and it looks like it's going to be a case of sourcing a pair from the states/australia/japan
