Was going to use twin MAF setup, with Apexi SAFC and custom chip by JD. Are there any pro's or con's to using a stand alone ECU, like the AEM one?

How does it meter the air? do you still use a MAF?

Are there any displays on the dash, for boost, traction control or is it all configured by laptop.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Barry

Cons, can't think of any :p Pro's oh yes plenty. You use a 3.5bar map sensor instead of your MAF and the mapper programes the required info into the ECU to give you more power, theres a fair bit about in the sub section that says click here at the bottom of this page, section http://www.smithys-place.co.uk/engperf.php

Thanks Paul, been looking at your site. Is AEM the best one to go for? Can you pm me a price with any additional bits that I may need.

Thanks

Theres plenty of ecu's you can go for but imho the aem is the most complete stand alone which has been developed for the zed and is certainly the only complete plug and play one ;) also it can be mapped by lots of people as its gems based so its fairly reasonable to be mapped

You will need the AIT sensor and the MAP sensor as smithy says but really thats all you need unless you plan on doing the mapping yourself in which can go for the uego wideband for it as well.
