getting the heater to work ,,,its all japanese to me

hi guys can someone please help me cos i think im going dippy

ive just got my zed back after 3 months and used the heater for the 1st time since i got it but i cant understand how it works if the digital readout says 40 hot air only comes out of the dash board vents it only comes out of the door vents when its down on about 18 or 19 but its nearly cold

ive been messing with it for nearly 2 hours and its doing my head in

my zeds a jap n/a if that makes a difference

any advise and micky taking welcome

The heater system on series 1 cars decides itself where the air should come out of. Sometimes its better at deciding than other times :(

Ideally it should be set at around between 21-23 degrees, which is the ideal ambient temp. Have Econ turned on (turns off the aircon) unless you need aircon and want to set the temp below 20.
