I'm looking at buying some turbos from an auto that have only 500miles on them.

I have used the search as much as possible and found that auto turbos have slightly smaller casings which mean quicker spool up but less possible power.

I want to run 14-15 psi on my manual car, will the auto turbos be up to this?

Anyone know the max efficency of auto vs manual turbos?

difficult question if noone has compared them before i know.

I guess they should run the same max psi, its only the AR thats different that effects spool up time. ie the auto tubs spool up quicker but will run out of puff sooner & vice-versa for the manual tubs

I have auto turbos on my manual and am running 15psi (when on high boost) with no problems at all. I've got no technical info for you though unfortunately but I'm sure a tech head will be along at some point.

Well there are stacks of autos here running that level of boost.

Not aware of a graph that compares the efficiency of them though, although there must be one somewhere.

I would be interested to see the graph. Sounds like it would actually be beneficial running auto tubs due to quicker spool time, as long as im not going to loose all my top end due to them hitting their peak too early.

my original auto tubs are still on after my manwell conversion and ive not noticed any difference. been running 15psi for ages.

with boost up to 15psi are you using 555 injectors guys or is the stock ones still up to the job??
