My Zed has an interesting light set up, just wondering if this is normal. I've had a look on the "jap vs US vs Europe" list and then had a long look at my lights, and mine doesnt match!

When I turn the fog lamps on, (main switch, i.e the rotary one is of) the dash lights come on, and what i presumed were the tail lights along with the fog lamps (front lights in the bumper)

When the rotary switch is turned to the first position (with the foglamps of) we get dash lights, tail lights and a very dim bulb in foglamp is illuminated

In the second position as above with head lights. (smaller lense in the main "bonnet" light) Then full beam works fine from the indicator stalk.

The car doesnt appear to have any rear fog lamps, they are ment to be in the centre panel on the rear i belive BUT all i have is four reversing lights?! (is that a UK centre panel?)

Indicators are all fine, but the front indicators in the lower bumper have a compartment behind which i assumed was for side lights, but there now appears to be two bulbs in fog lamps in the front bumper?!

All on top of this when any lights are illuminated (except brake and reversing) there is a high pitched buzzing from the rear of the car.

When the brake lights are illuminated a warning light comes on labelled "lights" on the left hand side of the lower dash. I always assumed this was a self check for the brake lights, but now im not so sure. (didnt old mini's used to do that??)

Is this correct, or has somone rewired my car back to front LOL

You have a JDM Zed so no rear fog lights.

The fog light switch on the R/H pod is for front fogs.

The centre panel always has four reversing lights.

If you have a buzzing from the rear you may have a centre panel that lights up............or a short circuit ! :x:

You set up its stock for an import, the front spot lights house both the side light and spot light, both the spot light and dip beam circuit also activates the side lights to prevent the spots been on with no rear side lights.

No rear fog lights were fitted as standard to imported zeds, the light alert is to warn of bulb failure, might be worth checking to see if the inner brake lights are wired as fogs, this would cause the lights alert to report missing bulbs.

The high pitch buzzing is NOt stock and needs looking at could be a relay fault or indeed the lights failure box.

Thanks guys, all the brake lights work (including the spoiler mounted one) So its not bulb failure, or being wired up strangly.

I did wonder if it was a relay, needs some attention anyway as its very annoying.

Glad all is (almost) normal, just reading that comparisons sheet is lists the JDM cars having rear fogs in the centre panel :-s

But thats gotta be wrong, just has 4 clear lights.... Now to the buzzing....!

Definately wrong!

No Zeds had fogs in the centre panel (except DIY jobs).

JDM's had no rear fogs.

UK's had two in the rear bumper.

the LIGHTS warning light should not come on either.

True.

Are all the bulbs working?

LED bulbs fitted?

Has it had a rear fog conversion?

No rear fogs mate, all the light up as they should, and I dont have any LED conversions on it.

All very strange... Well im glad it shoudlnt have any rear fogs, that clears some confusion up!

I have one on either side of the vehicle, (far left and far right tail light lense) and what appears to be three bulbs in the spoiler.

Looks like three but i cant be totally sure!

ah ha... cheers, that might be the issue then. I thought there were only ment to be one on each side... How stupid of me. I should really have checked, ah well get some at the weekend!

that will be y the car is telling you there is a light out. If you search about you will probably find a switch under the steering wheel for the rear fogs !

Yep, like Paul said, there may well be a switch somewhere, added after import to UK, to convert the two inner brake lights in to fog lights.

Check if the bulbs are actually there and if there has been some wiring mods to the bulbs.

Can't believe i didnt work that out on my own... ah well.

Only one is connected, the other is cut :s remedy that in time lol
