Just heard from a mate here at work that the Import Show at Belling Aquadome is on again this weekend.

I went last year and it was a very good day, Lots of modified imports and manufacturers there. Lots for wives and kids to do too.

Someone might even like to take piccies and post em up here. DaveH , Craig, im looking in your direction :o).

Where is it !!!????

Exact location / driving directions please.

Here are the Details of directions and other usefull tip bits, Respest to our Supra Owning Friend Pete for the info:o)

I have a few maps and event details also if anyone wants them Shoot us a mail before 5:15pm today.

Heres Johnny:

Costs

Entrance to the event is £5 to be paid at the gate (or £12 for the whole weekend Friday to Sunday including camping). An additional charge has to be paid to the organisers to cover the costs involved in running the event. This is only £3 per CAR so you can basically regard entrance as costing £8. I will be ordering a large number of tickets in advance at a cost of £3, with the remaining £5 to be paid at the gate on the day. It is possible to buy the £3 tickets on the day however that does not guarantee you entrance to the show and I would be unable to guarantee that you will be located with the UK Supra Owners group. If you are interested in purchasing a ticket from me please email me and I will let you know where to send the cheque

This will be our second time at the event, and with a turnout of over 35 Supras last time we expect this to be our biggest event of the year.

Camping

A number of people have expressed an interest in camping on the Saturday night. There is apparently ample camping space within Shelduck meadow and it is possible to buy a ticket to cover you for camping on both Friday and Saturday night. The normal entrance to Billing is £5, but if you are camping Friday and/or Saturday then it will cost £12 instead of £5. This is obviously a very good deal and all you would need is your tent. The £3 ticket to get into the show will cover you for BOTH days, so a complete weekend would be £15 for 2 nights of camping and 2 days of show entrance. People who are camping on Saturday night have a 'C' next to their name on the list to the right.

If you are interested in attending please email me for more information.

Sunday meeting point

Last year we met up before hand and drove in as a group. To say this grabbed everybodys attention would be an understatement. We plan on doing the same again this year. The meeting point is a Shell Garage/Little Chef/Burgerking just off junction 15 of the M1. You can see it as point 1 on the map. We will be meeting there from 9.30am, and will leave for Billing at 10.00am. Just pull into the Shell garage and drive straight towards the Little Chef. There is only one entrance/exit to the Little Chef, and this time Im quite sure we wont all fit in their car park, so please park safely around the Shell garage or use the Toby Pub car park next door and wander across. Please do not block the dual carriageway, but you might be able to park safely on the exit road from the petrol station (but not on the dual carriageway).

Maps and Directions to Billing Aquadome (double circles on the map)

From the M1 Jcn 15 follow signs for Northampton on the A508, which turns into the A45 after going over a large flyover. Billing Aquadrome should be clearly signposted and the entrance is located just off the A45. Billing is about 4 miles from the M1.

From the A1 going south take the A605 from Peterborough, which turns into the A45 at Thrapston (A14 jcn), and follow the A45 for 35 miles all the way into Northampton where you follow the signposts as above.

From the A1 going North your guess is as good as mine. You could try the A421 at Tempsford going towards Bedford, and then take the A428 from Bedford right up to Billing. Its about 28 miles and goes through Bedford but is about the most direct route from the A1.

Map 1 shows the whole of Billing Aquadrome. The shaded area of Shelduck Meadow is then expanded in Map 2. Billing run a one way road system which can be seen on Map 1.

this is the official full colour map from www.aquadrome.co.uk

and this is the official information pack I received from the organisers

for more details email John Branigan, or call me or SMS me on 07968 824365 before hand or on the day.

BILLING AQUADROME - THE SITE

Shelduck Meadow has been reserved for Saturday and Sunday July 29th and 30th, and it will be available for setting up on July 27th and 28th. The use of Shelduck Meadow is reserved for us, but ever car MUST pay normal admission to Billing Aquadrome, which is £5 per day or £12 for the weekend from Friday afternoon including 2 nights of camping.

FUNDING

Last year's event did break even, so the price of tickets remains at £3 per car. This is still a bargain for the only event of its kind in the UK. The £3 charge is to cover the costs of staging the event, ie marquee and equipment hire, PA systems, information etc.

SHELDUCK MEADOW

Admission to the event is £3 per car for one or both days and each club should order and pay for sufficient tickets before the event. Tickets must be ordered direct from Peter Hunter by July 4th and full payment made in advance. Cars simply turning up on the day will be charged £3 to join the event and admission tickets must be displayed in the windscreen throughout the event.

GUESTS

although display spaces are allocated to clubs they are not exclusively for club members, and we expect you to accommodate other individuals with the same make of car.

LOUD STEREOS

Some owners have caused offence in the past by playing loud beat music at maximum volume. Please impress on your members that over-loud music cannot be tolerated around the site.

FACILITIES

1. Central Control - We have booked a centrol control unit which includes mains power supply, PA system, and secure storage for small items.

2. Catering - there will be a catering van on the field selling hot drinks and food. It will be open saturday from 7am to midnight and Sunday from 7am to 5pm

3. Autojumble - if you know of any autojumbler prepared to attend with japanese parts, please ask them to contact Peter Hunter asap.

4. Trade Stalls - there will be japanese brochure stalls, Alan Spensley will have a stall of model cars and if you have any special requirements you can contact him on 01325 308 478. Blue Print and API Engines will again be there with special displays and information.

there will also be a number of other currently unspecified stalls.

SECURITY

Last year a club gazebo was stolen and there was some pilfering of tyre valve caps. You are responsible for your own car, its contents and any club possessions. We cannot reimberse clubs for items stolen.

FIREWORKS DISPLAY

On saturday night there will be a firework display organised by the Nissan turbo owners club. We would ask that clubs attempt to make a dontation towards the cost of these fireworks direct to Keith Purdon on 01942 601678.

TUG OF WAR

There will be an inter-club tug of war competition on Sunday so make sure youve got a heavyweight line up.

RADIO

Ray Bonsey will again be operating a short wave radio set, call sign gb0 TEC, trying to contact japanese car enthusiasts around the world on 10m, 20m and 40m wavelengths.

OVERSEAS VISITORS

Overseas visitors will be welcome to join us for the weekend. A display space has been allocated for all continental visitors who will also be admitted to the field FREE of charge. Visiting Toyotas will receive a free plaque from TEC. Please inform Peter Hunter if you have overseas visitors attending.

OTHER MAKES

This is a Japanese car event, so if you have to bring a non-japanese car it must be parked in the camping area away from the main display

SITE ACCESS

Please ensure all your members have a valid tickets and encourage them not to assist others to bring their cars onto the field without a ticket. Every car that gains entry to the field without a ticket is actually being paid for by the rest of us.

ACCOMMODATION

There is ample space for camping on Shelduck Meadow, but anyone wanting overnight accommodation can get a local area list from any of the following information offices.

And below are the maps etc

Map 1 shows the whole of Billing Aquadrome. The shaded area of Shelduck Meadow is then expanded in Map 2. Billing run a one way road system which can be seen on Map 1.

Speed Cameras in the area

I just received the following from a friend who is Northampton based. -

Luckily just before I go their tomorrow !!

Please be aware that speed camera enforcement has recently been "privatised"

in Northamptonshire and the aim is to increase the number of

drivers prosecuted for speeding from 38,000 last year to 75,000 this year.

The favourite method is a camera placed in a van by the roadside, in

lay-bys or on bridges. The vans are white or red in colour usually bearing

the words " Road Safety Team " and are targeting so called "Red Routes".

Local red routes include

The A45 at Weedon.

The A43 at Broughton nr Kettering; Lumbertubs Way Weston

Favell; the dual carriageway between Junction 15A of the M1 & Towcester

The A605 between Higham & Oundle

The A14 between Burton Latimer & Rothwell.

The A 508 between Junction 15 & Stony Stratford

There are a number of others and known accident blackspots are

receiving particular attention at present.

Well there goes my attempt at the sites longest post. Enjoy the event. And Mark, im currently looking in your direction for the piccies, I hope they are as nice as the ones Johnny sent us from the Max Power show ;o)
