Got done by a really naughty spped trap. And before anyone says they aint speed traps this bugger is deffo.

You got a left then right hand bend on a 60 MPH road and as you round the right bend you are presented with a 30 MPH sign on the apex of a sharp left hand bend so you slow down and as you round the left hand bend there is an almighty flash in your face and I got done 43 in a 30. literally all within 200 mtrs. and they say they aint speed traps? no way is this a saftey issue. If it was the signs would be further back and the camera less hidden. OK sour grapes and all that but its a sneaky b'strd. It is near Westoning/Flitwick. So be careful out there.

I am absolutely sick as I am normally quite careful with my speed.

I have made up a map to show the trap...........................

I ask this..........................

Why cant this country adopt a similar idea as the french. You are in a 60 MPH zone and as you enter a slower zone they slow you down with signs each getting lower as the speed limit changes?

I spose they wouldn't make any money then though.

theres a moral to this story... give topless a call and buy his brembos off him ;)

A very good idea but I dont think they will fit on my Vectra.... :wack:

that camera isnt for safety or the 30 sign would be before the bends. would look so bad if you had a 40 sign in place of the national speed limit sign

If it's a standard Gatso and it flashed in your face you'll be fine since they don't work with oncoming traffic. If on the other hand it's one of the forward facing jobbies (Tuvelo?) then yes, you've been had.

Yes mate I have had the NIP. already. No escaping this one I just gotta bite my lip and pay up. I just think its a nationwide rip off and we the motoring public are the victims. Something should be done....BUT what?

I havn't replied to my NIP and its almost 2 weeks ago now with no more letters.

Fingers crossed

You are given 28 days to state who the driver was at the time of the alleged incident. They include the NIP, which has to be served within 14 days of identifying the driver, with the name and address request as the registered keeper is usually the driver.

Don't know if its been covered now but I know a couple of guys who both wrote letters saying that as they havn't been cautioned they can't use the information against (or something to that affect). They both got away with it, this was about 6mths ago. Worth going on the websites that got mentioned and checking out the latest advice.

I got had by a mobile one a while back, was a copper on a bike.

Sneaky ****er was parked behind a car, was still putting his

flourescent jacket on as i went past, thought i'd got away with

it, but..........nope
