after 4 months of no sleep waiting on the car arriving from japan its now finally road legal,

 

and i'm tempted to sell it already as it really isnt a road car,to do 30mph you have to sit in 2nd or it jumps along the road,the clutch(os giken triple plate) really is an on off switch,

 

i dont care if i sound like a pussy but it really is just too fast :o

 

every gear once you hit 4k the world warps around you and you go deaf as the screamer pipes engage :smash:

 

its just far too extreme to use as a fast road car 100mph+ is instant,theres no playing with scoobs or anything anymore even pulled away from a gallardo without too much effort(which was when it sunk in,what if there was a police car sitting at the side of the road,at the speeds this thing does the ban isnt the worrying thing)tom tom gps seen 198mph(on a private road of course)and still pulling,

 

4th and 5th gear feel more like 2nd and 3rd in my old zed running 1.2 bar,

 

its evil i tell you,lol :wack:

 

i cant afford to keep a track car like this

 

so what do i do?

LOL aye its a bit of a handful ;)

 

Its certainly got a spec to die for in a slicktop with lighter seats etc so its pretty light as well so that combination is always gonna make it a mental car.

 

I still think you should wait till its fully mapped up on the AEM and then think about it.

main problem is its hard to detune the car as its got everything, ie massive cams, turbos etc

 

the worse thing about what pauls said is he is only running it at 1.1-1.2 ish bar and once mapped it will run at around 1.5-1.6 bar :dance:

it's booked in tomorrow morning to get the AFR checked as it's still running it's jap ecu,then down to Dan Turner on the 24th of april to get the AEM mapped.

Yes but as i said on the phone it may also make it a little more "easier to drive" as lower speeds which will transform the car bud. Theres nothing you can do about the clutch as its a big power car so it needs a big power clutch ;) i know its not the easiest clutch to live with but you will get used to it and the power :)

i have to agree with mike a properly mapped car will be more handleable at lower speeds and still annihilate when you depress the loud pedal;)

the problem isnt so much the drivability(sp) of the car its more the fact i'll honestly end up in jail having it,i've already got used to the clutch or atleast have stopped stalling it,lol

 

i think i must be getting old :(

 

as for price it is owe me around 8k as is

 

once i get it mapped it will have cost me close to 2k more including the price of the AEM.

why dont you keep it as it is and just use it for what it was built for :D and buy a more sensible zed to be your daily driver, JoleyP has a nice one for sale at 2k

Why don't you get the RPS carbon carbon, smithy will do you a good price on it?

 

As to losing your licence why don't you get a snooper cyrius and a laser jammer, then you have done as much as you can ;)

 

Not sure what engine management you have but it could be an option to have two maps one for low and high boost and then you have a driveable car when you desire?

 

Lastly why don't you dyno it and do a few quarter miles, would be nice to see another proven big bhp zed in the uk :)

the clutch really isnt that bad but the plan was still to change to an rps carbon,

 

it will get a dyno tomorrow when the AFR is checked,the quarter mile isnt really what i think this car would be at home doing,more of a time attack car,it'll go through corners at speeds i would never have even thought about in any of my old zeds.

 

i really dont know what to do as i love it,it's my dream zed with everything done...

 

it has the brakes and suspension there to support the power even on the edge it feels very controllable.

 

i just feel it would be a real waste to sit it outside and use it maybe twice a year.

thats the bit i'm still trying to get my head around,as you said its what i always wanted but now i have it i dont really want it,maybe that will change but i'm not in a position to have a 10k track car(although i wish i was,lol)
