Just a note for anyone that has a problem with their speed sensor (off the transmission, 5speed I can't speak to the AUTO)

A failing speed sensor on the transmission if not replaced promptly, will cause an additional failure in your Speedo Head according to Nissan.

Certain failures of the sensor cause a voltage overload to be fired through the circuit and causes damage to the Speedo Head transducer (Behind the speedo). Once this happens, there is a grounding that occurrs intermittently causing the speedo needle to drop to 0, your cruz control stops working and the variable speed steering is also affected.

It is a whole lot cheaper believe me to fix that sensor right away than have to also buy this $450(CAD) transducer from Nissan once it also becomes damaged.

Just an FYI!

a great heads up. thanks for letting us know mate :hyper:

seems plausible, my mate went through 2 sets of dials before having the sensor replaced, maybe this is what happened.
