Wheel sizes

Hiya Guys,

I have a 1991 Jap NA that has 245 40 16 all round with new P7000s. I am still getting a lot of back end slide despite new shox. Most probably the way I drive round corners in the wet.

Just wondered would the slightly fatter rear stock alloys and tyres from the rear wheels of a TT fit onto my NA.

And if so does anyone have any rear TT stock wheels for sale.

Kind regardZ

Amer.

Yep should fit and I have a set with new tyres on. Marshalls granted so not really high performance for a Turbo but for your NA should be OK.

Put Marshalls on the back and you'll be sliding all over the place in the wet (fine in the dry).

If your tyres are 245s on Jap alloys then these are too wide for the wheels.

Do yourself a favour and put some 225/50 ZR16 Bridgestone S03s on the back instead, it will transform the grip levels of your car

Dylan, I've got to agree. Although this is the first set of tyres on my Z, dry road grip is awesome. But wet road grip is awesomly crap!! I was outdragged by a fookin' calibra yesterday!!! frown.gif frown.gif Me 1/4 throttle in 1st & 2nd gear tryin' to find grip frown.gif

Also, I just did my 4000 mile service 2 weeks ago, the rears won't make another 2000 as a guess frown.gif

Another choice of tyres for me then next time around!!

Regards

Robert.

Get some Bridgestone S03s next time. On the Marshalls there were some junctions I couldn't pull out of without spinning the tyres (tried Hold mode, overdrive on/off, would still spin due to uphill gradient and wet leaves)

I put the Bridgestones on at the beginning of November and have done 6500 miles on them. They've still got plenty of tread and I haven't lost control of the rear once since putting them on. I can get the tyres to spin if I floor it around corners but it feels controllable, unlike the sudden side to side brown trouser moments with the Marshalls. I now drive the car as normal in the wet, rather than like a paranoid old women.

sorry Timmy, wasn't trying to put anyone off wink.gif

No worries mate, but I'd say two rear wheels and brand new tyres for a 100 squid ain't too bad! Not everyone is minted enough to go and lash out on SO3's so if it's just to get somebody around then I'd say it's fair enough.

Why do you think I put Marshalls on? Because in a few weeks time the car would be into paint and having brand new 18" Azevs with BF Goodrich Profilers slapped on.

They were fine with me in the wet and much better than my slicks I had on previously even in the wet. Some of you guys must raz it like nutters on a daily basis to keep throwing your cars out the way you do! I never had any problems with those Marshalls on wet or dry, must be the way I drive I guess? LMFAO biggrin.gif

Yeah laugh it up Mr P!!! ROFL biggrin.gif

That was in the wet, with slicks on. wink.gif

P.S. rear left and right opposite so on wrong, then discovered that the rear wheels were actually the fronts and fronts should have been on the back! FFS! No wonder I was spinning around like a Tazmanian Devil on Acid!!! ROFLMFAO biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Well, if they're only 100 quid then I'd say buy them just for the wheels as its sort of summer now so the marshalls should be ok if you drive like a granny when its wet and then put decent tyres on in the autumn.

In fact, forget all that, its a complete rip off and you don't want to buy them

Pssst Timmy, can I have the wheels instead? LOL

LOL biggrin.gif

Well the rears were about 70 squids each I think, fronts were just under 60 squids. You can see that they're pukka from the pic. Marshall is the left hand wheel out of the three. Dusty one! LMAO biggrin.gif

Well I'm either gonna sell as a set of four for around 200 or if matey has the rears then the fronts will still be up for grabs.

Wheels are a bit scabby though, that's why so cheap.
