The car's been running very roughly and idles been up and down when it's cold then seems to clear up once its warmed up and been run round.

There's also a slight whining from the left hand side of the car (where i found this)

Was fishing round the engine bay for possible causes and found this:

First question, would the leak on this cause a poor/variable idle?

Second question, where the heck can i get a replacement made up?

That's exactly what i was thinking, could be a problem :(

Because of the location of the dump valve being so close to the throttle body there's not many aftermarket solutions

Cheapest/easiest solution would be to Fit stock Rubber pipes on there, and relocate dump valves to the Recirc location.

Or that LOL

What's the difference between the dump valves and recircs?

What are the advantages/disadvantages of removing the recircs?

Absolutely no advantage to removing the re circs mate, they will happily do their job on 500bhp + Zed's, the use of aftermarket dump valves simply whooosh and nowt else compared to re-circs.

any advantages to losing the recirculation?

You already have. As standard the car comes with Recircs (think of them as Silent Dump valves), and yours has the recircs removed and blanked off (under the nose panel either side of Air filter) , and Dump valves fitted in your Inlet pipes.

You could just fit the stock rubber pipes back on and fit the Dump valves where the recircs would of originally been. Cost = £0 , time = 1hr :)

Well if its just a case of getting the replacement pipes for the top and just unbolting and rebolting the bovs in their place then that's not too bad a job, just don't want to get so far and find they need adapters (as all things do on these flipping cars lol)

I agree with what Paul say here. Only one of my recirc valves was Goose Honking and a pair of Apexi dump valves were cheeper than a single Nissan Recirc.

Didn't realise I could get aftermarket recircs at about the same price as the Apexi's or I would have.
