Built my first 8-bit single board computer when I was 14 years old, thats hmmm, quite a few years ago now!. Was based on the 6809 processor and had 2x 2114 1K RAM chips!. All hand wired on special micro style vero board.

A bit different to what you have there!.

ouch IBM's. Get the hell rid of them, they will cost you big in the end when u lose all ur data. Mine blew up a month or so ago after 18 months of service, lost the lot.

EVERYONE else I know with an IBM drive has had it blow up on them.

Are they the new 120GXP? Cos they have such a bad reliability problem IBM reccomend you dont run them more then 7 hours a day or something.

Dont get me wrong im not slagging ur machine off it looks qicked but be warned about those drives. Ull be sorry when all ur work goes down the drain redface.gif

oh yeah forgot to mention

if you fancy a top of the range 22" iiyama monitor i can put you in touch with somebody selling one at 300 quid.

IBM are supposed to be the worlds leading hard drive manufacturer ! Anyway, anyone who doesn't backup their critical data deserves to lose it !

Thats a bit harsh andy p lol.

True, but it's reality. Everyone has been bitten at least once, everyone should know the score by now. Would you feel sorry for people who lose their money because they insist on keeping it in a pocket with holes ? wink.gif
