Well today I decided to rip out the hole Hicas system. That was the rear steering rack all the pipe work from the rear under the car to the front, the pump and the twin turbo pas pot and the front mount small oil cooler. In place of all this I will rebuild with a Hicas eliminator for the rear rack a N/A power steering pump and pas pot. This should help to make things a little tidy'r under the bonnet , oh and I have also ripped out that bloody bleed pipe for the clutch and fitted a different clutch master cylinder,

Will post pics soon

Nice one, make sure you change the outer ball joints or you will still have rear wheel steering when they wear out but just not under control.

I'm very interested in this clutch re-routing to eliminate that bleed point. So pics please :)

I have not realy had to re-route in stead I have changed the old S1 clutch master cylinder for a S2 clutch master cylinder which has the bleed nipple attached as shown in the pics

What did you do about where the bleed piping joints the main clutch piping? Or did you replace the whole lot with a sinlge braided piece?

I dont want that bleed point sitting there when i take out the solenoid.

You get a single braided hose straight from master to slave :)

Did this on mine and it firms up the pedal too by replacing the old rubber pipe on the slave cylinder.

Smithy does a braided hose but it's not the full length.

I have the shorter pipe that Smithy does.

Could I ask who supplied you with the longer pipe? Or where you got it made up? Thinking of doing the same with my P.S. feeds.

Bump.

Is the S2 master a straight swap onto a S1 car?

And where is the best source for a full length braided piping master->slave?

Cheers.

Yes it's a straight swap.

I got my long pipe from Smithy I think?

I'm sure he got a few made up as a one-off but not sure he still does them.

Smithy says he didnt when I asked.

Any idea what sizes the two end connectors were, and how much length you used, of what diameter? I'd rather find out without taking it all off the car!

why not ask Topless

he does the conversions
