Polishing your Seats

Has anyone tried using black shoe polish on their leather seats, it would seem ideal to get the little scuffs out but I don't want to look like I sat on a wet park bench afterwards.

Hi Herman

If you use scuff remover thingy, the sort of stuff you use on kid shoes it works fine, lasts for a couple of months, I did buy some leather restoring dye and cleaner, I'll try and fine the name and post it for you.

Regards

JOHN

I have used proper shoe paste/polish before and that has been very good but you have to make sure you get all residue off or you know what will happen.

I then used Leather balm over the top to seal. It's lasted 6 months and its about due for another go. Can't complain at that.

Glenski you nutter!

That's enough to put you off winning the race if she's waving her chequered flags at ya!!

I used some of that black Kiwi scuff remover stuff to black up some wrinkles and minor scratches. Looked so good I then did the whole front seat covers.

Then days later took a business colleague on a long run to some meetings and when I got home saw the state of the back of my shirt! Add a tiny bit of sweat and guess what? Yep shirt becomes a polishing duster. Hope his suit was OK! So if you do it keep the aircon on cool!

Thanks for the advice, I think I'll try shoe polish on the pasenger seat first, and see if I get any complaints biggrin.gif

As for replacement seats, I remember you posting somthing about them before Timmy, the picture of the Blue seats, Sparco's was it ?, were well nice, I do like having electric seats though, and the Z seats are well comfy even for someone as big as me 6'6".

Cheerz again.

I tried Kiwi on my Merc drivers seat just before Billing last year. It does work in getting the colour back into any scuffs but as someone said above, you need to seal it! wink.gif Mine wore off shortly after.
