Ok this is the same problem I've had since a friend of mine and I replaced the brake master cylinder seals a while ago.

 

Basically when the car is left for longer than 24 hours all the pressure in the clutch disappears. Now, I have no leaks anywhere and the fluid isn't dropping but still I lose all the pressure in my pedal.

 

I think I have air trapped somewhere but a friend has told me that by emptying the system when i bled it to replace the master seals, I could have disturbed the seals in the slave cylinder and it could be a bit knackered! Is this correct?

 

Also I have not modified the slave to master fluid line so I am still using the half flexible half hard hose that the car was built with that a lot of people seem to have problems with. Will it make a difference if I replace it?

 

I have bled the system countless times using the Nissan Service Manual procedure and it still doesn't work, but also doesn't appear to have any air in it. I'm a mu whits end because I can't drive the thing. Even when i've pressurised it by pumping and pumping I can't change down from 5th to 4th i have to pump an pump again. Someone please help cos i'm sick of this now!!

sounds like clutch master cylinder fault.

I am having a similar issue with my clutch at the moment. best advice is to replace the master and slave with new units (they are not that expensive).

If the problem still exists then your looking at a problem with the actual clutch.

Did that fix the problem with yours?!!

I'd replace the slave unit and then bleed again 2/3 times....bleeding from the slave and then the drivers side wing alternatly several times.

 

I replaced the slave cylinder when my clutch was done 2 years ago as a precaution so assume as you've done the master, that the slave is now the weakest point?! of course if there is no pressure then it could be fluid leaking past the seals you've replaced and might be worth doing that job again when doing the slave cylinder...

Did that fix the problem with yours?!!

Will do. New clutch is arriving at the garage tomorrow so hopefully i will get it back before the weekend :hyper:
