hi all you stereo people out there..

bear in mind all i know is how my system sounds not a techie at all. Well here goes

I have a pioneer deh headunit with a 12 disc changer digi equaliser, 2 # 6.5" components with crossovers in the front , 2 # 6 x 4" jbl's in the rear and a 10" sub with 1000w amp in the boot.

it sounds great however the jbl 6 x 4 in the rear are crappy..lol they seem to be trying to push more sound than they are able..and distort lots.. :mac1:

the rest of the system sounds superb and am very happy with it, just need to sort this out..

any suggestions as to a different speaker and where i can get them from??

cheers people

If you have good quality cross-over front speakers and a good sub, there's no real need for rear speakers.

Do you have a seperate power amp to drive the speakers?

umm dont think so, have disconnected the speakers and the sound is ok but not as full if you get me

any ideas?

See if you can get hold of a set of Bose rear boxes. These can be modified very esily to take a set of 6.5 inch speakers. I have done it with a set of Focal components and Dynamatted the boxes and sealed the little bass reflex ports and they sound superb. I also have a 10 inch sub and 6.5 inch components up front. Ask wozzer what it sounds like, he heard it the other week!

You will never get a decent sound from those piddly little oval shape speakers!!

Any questions, let me know.

Andy
