Whereabouts on the tailgate/car body is the switch that controls the boot light???? (I assume it's seperate to the one that does the front interior lights)

Only the SWB doesn't have a boot light and I'd like to fit one.

Pix would help please :)

Featured Replies

Switch is built into the lock mechanism, would assume a lwb lock would fit the swb with switch included, in the lwb the switch is isolated from the door pins by means of diodes.

Thanks for that...............sounds typically Zed like in as much as it's more complicated than it needed to be :)

I was thinking more along the lines of a simple pin switch.

Had a look at my boot lock today and there is one wire going onto a spade terminal on it.. Con checking this revealed that with the boot open it was a short to earth and with the boot closed it was open circuit. Therefore, quid pro quo, this is obviously what is used to provide the earth path for the boot light when fitted. So I now need to find myself a suitable boot light to fit :D

PM me some details please :D ;)

2 off, Twin LED`s in clear plastic casing with 3 mtrs of pre-wired twin core cable.

Length= 80mm, Width= 25mm and about 5mm high once fitted.

Only downside is, you would need to Dremmel or cut a hole in the boot panel, approx 45mm x 15mm for it too fit ?

Stamped on the rear it says= 10-33v 0.5w.

Last 2 pics they are wired up to a battery charger, actually quite bright ! ;)

Any good ?

I will get those indicators wrapped and boxed up but as I am on night shifts this week and then away to Coniston at the weekend I won't be able to get to the PO until next week.
