Have you tried the search button? If not you should as you're bound to find something usefull, good luck.

PTU could be a likely suspect ?

Clean up the connectors, or swop it with a spare one to see if it makes any difference. Series 1 type are prone to cause trouble.

well thats it running now changed sparkplugs and stripped out PTU and cleaned connector plugs started first turn of the key bit juddery but soon cleared

Well done on the reply bud,

A lot of people seek help and then dont respond back with what was the fault, or maybe the fault !!

PTU then, hopefully.

I have the same problem, started the car yesterday, fired up then cut out. exuse my ignorance but can you point me in the direction of the PTU. Thanks

Front of engine, left hand cam belt cover, grey metallicy box held in place with 4 screws. Plug may have the green corrosion or a loose terminal.

Mine had a similar problem cut out on way home from work, wouldnt but eventually did start, then chucked it twice again till I got home then wouldnt start. Was soo pissed off I left it for 2 days turned the key and it kicked into life. I bought a brand new S2 PTU from Courtesy Nissan in USA but ya gotta add import tax on which puts the price up a bit but nowhere near what Nissan were charging in this country. Here is a link to Courtesy for the PTU:

Hope this helps Cheers John Crisp
