may be worth pm'ing bob as he must deal with all the ignition wiring when fitting the alarms?

Richard, can you remove your ignition key while the auto lever is in any position other than 'P'? Because I believe that is the solenoid to stop the key being fully turned for removal!

 

But I could be wrong ;)

Dave is correct, I can remove my key with the box in any position and also put the box into any position without touching the brake pedal which is not so good.

Well it's probably been cut because the solenoid doesn't work properly, and the key may of got stuck!! Hence the cut wire, can't really think of any other reason why someone would want to do this though :confused:

At least you know now that you can reconnect it without any detriment to circuits etc. If it don't work, just cut it again :D

Will give it a go this weekend and see what happens :)
