Hi guys,

Sorry I haven't been along to many meets recently. As some of you may know, Sarah and I are getting married in September so I've been busy sorting that out.

Anyway, I recently bought some brake disks from the nearest Zed specialist (who shall remain nameless for various reasons). I was offered some Brembo disks for £175 ex vat! I was also offered some other disks which were of unknown make but fitted to a heavily modified car so I was assured that they were good quality. The owner had backed his Zed into a tree in a fairly major way but the front of the car was fine. The disks had only been on the car 3 weeks.

I bought these disk a fair bit cheaper than £175 but when I attempted to fit them, I found out they were turbo disks and my 1991 N/A has narrower calipers. This is one reason why the Zed specialist shall remain nameless as I was ASSURED they were the same.

Anywho, I now have a set of nearly new front TURBO-spec disks for sale for £50. I am posting on the South Central forum as they are f-ing heavy and hence I don't want to have to post them. Apologies to any moderators if this is not allowed.

Anyone interested? I can bring them to the next meet (which I hope to attend!).

What ya need mate is some TT brake calipers!!

Fortunately, the later N/A's have the thicker calipers!

Well that's an option, especially considering the calipers seem to be binding slightly but I'd rather spend the money on the other car at present.

Err, they look like brake disks. Plain non-drilled, non-grooved, internally vented brake disks. Very light surface rust on the edges and centres just due to being sat for a couple of weeks. Still, if you're interested, I could take a photo tonight?

You need to see them to appreciate the lack of wear or ridges but here you go:
