good and if so what do i do with the two rubber pipes that come down either side of the exhausts on my original system many thanks gary

Featured Replies

It part of the Aiv system, which wont be needed after decatting.

Im not sure if you can just leave the pipes there or not, i am completely removing my Aiv system when i decat mine this week :)

Yeah just remove the AIV system all together mate. Thats the best way. you'll have to jack her up and remove the front wheels and the arch liner and at the back you'll see something that looks like an air filter box. Bin it. There is a write up on one of the other forums somewhere. I'm sure someone has the link. Daves_zed has it I think. Alternatively do a search on AIV and that'll put sommat up.

thanks for that everyone but looking at the diagram is it possible just to cut the rubber piping back and push it out the way instead of removing all the aiv system

looking at this system can someone tell me how many bolts are on the turbo i thought it were 3 but this system shows 4 i could be wrong im sure mine has 3

Just took my old cats off, there are 4 bolts to your turbo and 3 bolts to the rest of your downpipe, i have just sheared 2 bolts off mine so i know :(

does the engine have to be moved in anyway to put this exhaust system on

hi bud .....

NO if you have a ramp.....!!! :) .....it's about an hour's work "IF" all goes well...!!!

as above ..you can snap a bolt .. :headvswal ..or ..let a garage do it (so if any bolt's snap..they can fix it ... :)

...

all the stud on mine cam off withouth much bother, although drivers side was a pain in the ass.

upper right stud was very difficult to remove.

*also, question here, how important are the heat sheilds up there? is it ok to leave them off?*
