I swopped over from Sky last month to NTL who in the meantime have become Virgin Media, This morning I get in and no Sky TV on Virgin Media. There is a message saying "Sky have withdrawn their channel Sky One from Virgin but dont worry you can still watch living" ???? WTF. how can you compare Living with Sky One? OK if you are a house wife! I have had no end of trouble with this poxy Virgin "TV Drive" box it freezes up, switches itself off and re-boots at leisure and now to add insult to injury no more LOST. I am on the phone later on and cancelling.

Has anyone else got this Virgin TV Drive?

Surely I must be within my rights to cancel because I am not getting what I signed up for? What do you think.......About my right to cancel?

Would have thought so. Go for it Vinni lad!

Should have chosen Sky in the first place, you tight sod

I have Sky +, and have had no problems, I think its good value for money. IMHO :)

Virgin and Sky have fallen out it was on the cards Sky preferred to work with NTL.

I think Sky just tried it on, wanting more than double the price to show some Sky channels so Virgin have stood their ground.

I'm sure they will be back after more negotiation.

The TV drive box is pretty new and will get firmware updates sent to it on a regular basis just like Sky+ had it's teething problems.

The Virgin service is much better value if you're taking TV, phone, mobile and broadband.

Cable broadband is way better than ADSL.

Agree Chris..

the full package is good value.. I had a few problems on initial set-up, but fine ever since.

Virgin for me everytime :D :slap: :nana2:

Yeah I think virgin were right in that sky were charging over the odds for skyone.

To be honest the only thing I watch on Sky One is Lost. I know others will say 24 and a few others but there's not that much on there really.

Now if I lost Doscovery Real time that would really p*ss me off.

Has anyone discovered you can now record Sky remotely from your PC?

Very cool just tried it this morning!

Yes you can do it from your mobile too if you have a compatible phone :)

Virgin is a better and cheaper service but Sky One man........? Its my favourite channel. Lost, Star trek, Futurama. Simpsons. Stargate SG!. I will miss all that lot. I had sky+ for the last 2 years and if it rained we would loose the signal I asked them to fix it and they wanted £60. Virgin offered HD for no extra cost? Its a hard descision............................... :smash:

Further more to my posts: I have read the link and to be honest I think I have changed my mind. I dont like the idea of Sky monopolizing the market. I thought it wasnt allowed in this country? So I am looking for a good supplier of DVD's of LOST........................

I think Sky will back down and reduce prices as Virgin is going to be a huge loss of income for them.

Personally I never watch Sky1 much and the other missing channels are pants.

I was a bit shocked this morning too! But then I usually only watch the basic channels, BBC ITV etc. Much better deal than Sky, I get Braodband, phone and Telly for £20!!!!!!!!!!!!!

whether you have sky or virgin some are losing track of whats going on here

yes virgin users may only pay £20 for phone/broadband and tv but for far less channels than sky (was about 130), i think sky offer the same package for £26 for 200 channels, are virgin going to reduce your payments now you have lost those channels ? NO

work out for the top money packages what it would cost you for both, and there will be no difference, in fact virgin is probably more expensive

add all the sports and films in and work it out.

You better hope that neither sky or virgin get their own way in this dispute, as the only loser will be the customer, if sky win and virgin dont take up the sky 1 etc, further down the line further arguements are going to start over leasing of channels from both sides, yes you may not be bothered you have lost these channels but you have PAID FOR THEM, and will continue to do so,

so if sky lose money because of virgin, next time a contract is due for discussion who do you think is going to suffer?

if you only bought your petrol at shell and bp hiked their prices would you say "i don't care i don't use bp" no because you know shell will not be far behind,

sky and virgin love "discussions" like those above because it at the end of the day lines their slimey pockets, you reckon murdoch or branson give a shite about their customers? or if a few cancel, sky will be looking at how many customers they can grab from them, virgin will be thinking lets see how much stink and customers we lose and not have to pay sky, digital tv is going to be rolling out soon, WHO do you think is going to be making bucket loads??

It dont make a difference either way....as usual the consumer will be the one suffering

but would be nice to see murdoch suffer a bit.....he has kinda monopolised the market
