Ut oh the dreaded falshing red lights!!

 

I've had three before sent it back as it was under warranty all fixed.

 

Never guess what now?? yup it has a extra one now so four flashing red lights and my warranty is now bye bye.

 

Me have no money to get a new one :wack:

All 4 m8 is the vga cable, has it come loose? can you borrow one to confirm its that?

I have a three red light thing going on at the moment. lol

Yar i got the info off the microsoft site, i've tried different cables and tvs but no luck.

 

three light is over heating well that what mine was.

 

Oh make sure you back it up or don't supply the hd as those bums wipped mine.

this is my third but touch wood never gone wrong since :x:

make sure the power pack is not stuck on the carpet or on top

of the 360 etc, best place if possible is to have it hanging

as a LOT of the overheating problems are caused by the power supply

Already sent one back wasnt reading discs, got a brand new one 4 months ago and thats gave up now, I know I flash the drive in mine but thats got now't to do with it.

I would'nt mind but I hardly ever use it!

Try wrapping it up in a towel and leave it turned on for 20mins i.e. sudfforcate it and then reset it it should work then. Silly I know but watch for smoke, lol

They do but it costs about £90 (so I have heard)

don't know if they give you another 12 months warranty after that though.

I've just had mine back. 1st time in 10 months. thought xbox customer service was great. turn around in under a week.

 

Not looking forward to prospect of problems after warrenty expires though.

haha yeah didn't play on mine much neither but now it's in Xbox heaven i miss it and kinda lost lol.

I often get the 3 red lights, I just switch it off, wiggle the power lead around a bit, and then it works again :)

 

I would send it in for repair, but I'm a tight git :p

If its overheating, it would work for a bit after cooling down?

How long is it before they start going wrong? Had mine 13 months now and never had a problem with it (touchs all wood he can find).

 

If it wasn't for the problems with the power pack o would consider getting installed in my car.

was considering getting one last year, glad i didnt now if they are that tempermental

tbh if you buy the cooler for the back sirc £20 pounds , it plugs straight on the back and keeps it super cool , overheating wont be a problem as long as the obvious is done nothing on top of it ,, also would recomend turning the power supply of when not in use as these do get hot , had mine scine xmas no probs at mo but i had to wait for mine 2 months as they recalled thousands , due to all the probs im guessing you guys have had , allthought my sons one brand fire new came with loads of stored games and music on his brand new hard drive???

This happened to my sons one. 2 weeks after the warranty ran out. Unfortunately as I was carrying it up the stairs I dropped the bloody thing and had to claim. :shock:

Guess what?? i just called Microsoft and they are going to repair it for free. It's out of it's warranty though.

 

Only prob is it's one of these bingbangbong countries and couldn't understand a work the women was saying so not sure what to do now, think i wait for a email.

Yep they send an email with a link to UPS. follow link, print label and stick to plain box that you put 360 in. Write ref number they hopefully gave you on box. Call ups for collection and your done.

 

Real result mate, pleased for u. :dance:

 

 

p.s dont forget to send 360 only. no hard drive or controllers etc

lol i think i'll wait for PS3. xbox360 was on watchdog the other week wasnt it? apparently everyone was getting the 'red ring of death' about 2 weeks after the warranty ran out! :shock:

yup i made that mistake last time, send the hard drive and when i got it back it was empty.

 

I couldn't make out what she said but sounded like i had to supply a box this time.
