Can anyone tell me how much an automatic gearbox weighs for a 300ZX. I've just bought one and i am having it shipped to Motherwell but the company i've arranged delivery only deal up to 50kg, this is just under 8 stone. I thought this would be ok but now i am not so sure. If the weather had been better i would have had my own off by now. (I've re-posted this as it was in the wrong forum, sorry)

The manual box weighs around 60kg so the autobox is probably somewhere around 90kg.

Definitely more than 60KG for an autobox. I recently transported one in the back of my Zed which involved lifting it over the tail into the boot and out again and ever since my back has been telling me not to do that anymore! ;) I would estimate the weight of an autobox to be between 70 and 80KGS.

 

If you need to ship it your best bet is to use a pallet service - should fit on half a pallet.

Just tried to lift the one I have round my back. It really needs 2! Guess about 70-80kg

 

Two of us put it in the boot of my other car.

Probably about the same as the forking block with crank I had to lift into chunks car by myself last night. Now that was proper heavy!!!!!!!!!!!!

**** me :D Everyone calls me a pipe cleaner but I can lift a Z block and crank and have also lifted quite a few auto boxes into the back of vans/cars.... :rofl:

Box, without torque convertor, is 69kg on my bathroom scales.
