I'm tightening up my split rim alloys where the nuts and bolts go through joining the outer section to the centre section.

Can anyone tell me what torque setting I should be using to torque the nuts up so its bloody tight and won't come off again as I havent put any lock tight on either. Don't want to over-tighten them so they strip or damage the alloy in anyway.

Hope someone can give a swift reply. Definately going to pay for a membership in a bit, this place is a fountain of knowledge. :mac1:

First off, apply some thred-lock! Torque settings in alloy are rarely above 20Nm depending on bolt length so be carefull. Can't stress how important the thread lock is tho - its cheap as well ;) :)

I would say the required torque setting is something along the lines of "F.T"
