was thinking about having my uk tt auto converted to manual but i havnt had it long so havnt spent much money on it, should i just sell it and buy a manual or have it converted? whats better, a Z converted to manual or a Z built as a manual?

I am converted bud, im like a little kid again, had to go out drive it tonight even in the wet and i didnt have the balls to push it too hard, cant wait till tomorrow for fun.

I would convert m8 :hyper:

Just remember that the auto motor has smaller turbos and a diff camshaft, this delivers peak power & torque a bit lower down than a manual motor.

With the smaller tubs you'll find spool up is faster, less lag than stock tubs.

This theoretically should make a manual-converted auto a bit quicker than a stock manual zed - but whose counting :D

Im in the throws of a manwell convo at the mo so I cant wait to get it done

this is all i needed to hear, cheers lads :D for the auto drivers i got nowt against autos but when im driving hard i want to choose what gear im in and when, i hanvt really got the time or space to do the conversion myself plus im impatient and if i want sumthin i want it now!  so where would you lot advise me to take it to have it converted bearing in mind i live in newcastle so fuel costs come into it if im to drive to the bottom of the country, i emailed zedworld but havnt heard anything back yet i mite try ringin them sometime during the week i cant see why they would ignore me because i sent them quite a list of stuff i would like carried out at the same time and no doubt it will cost me a couple of grand,

the list:

1)timing belt+auxiliary belts

2)heater matrix

3)manual conversion

4)full stainless zorst from turbos back over

5)chip+boost upgrade

6)BOV's

7)underdrive pulley

8)oil pressure + boost gauges

numbers 1 and 2 may get done DIY sometime soon but if a company gives me a decent price on it all i will more than likely just pay for it all to get done the i at least have receipts for it all for if i ever come to sell the car, which i know i wont....... :D

you should get it done for under £1500 mate. mine cost £1650 parts & labour and that was 2 years ago. conversions have become cheaper and more popular since then.

just put up F.A.O.ANDY DUFF in the help and advice and he'll soon et back to you
