Just done this the other week......

To remove the stop pins, simply grip them (not too tightly) with a pair of pliers and pull upwards.

As for the needles, if you need to remove them, use a flat bladed screwdriver and place this under the centre of each needle, and twist it slowly so as to push the needle upwards. Take note of the positions of the water temp and fuel needles, and replace in the same places......

Before I go into loads of detail regarding the other needles, let me know if you need it, and I'll gladly type it up ;)

type away as they just arrived in the post wahoo!!

Depending on the dials, you may not need to remove anything.

My dials just slipped over the needles and pins. (Hmmn, wasn't that a song? )

Anyone know where I can get spare stop pins?

That is a very good point, a lot of people say you really shouldn't remove the needles, unless you really need to (I did have to though)

I can't post up the instructions on removing the needles at the moment though, as I can't find them, and wouldn't want to guess at it and forget something.

Graham, have a word with Mike (MJP) unless someone has a knackerd clock set that they don't mind taking the pins out of.

right iv got them off and replaced the dials but now im wondering why are the bulbs behind the dials have a blue rubber covering?? does this affect the light behind it?? as i want them as bright as theycan be?????

If you do remove the needles, remove the stopper pins first then remember the exact position of the needle as its rest place isnt at the position. I didnt do this and it took me ages to set it up again! Good luck Dude!

:nelson: oops...it thinks im doing 50 in a 30 now and now my car can do 170 lol!! bugga!!!!

Ben.....

Remove the stop pins, turn the ignition on (WITHOUT starting the car) and the needles for rev and speed should be as low as they can go. If not replace them so that they are. With your windows closed, take her for a ride, preferably with someone in another car that can test you speed. Once you're sure it's reading correctly again, replace the pins and fully re-assemble the dash.
