i get shaving rash (on my neck lol) realy bad, my neeck goes really red and spotty after ive had a shave, it becomes very irratable

for anyone else this happens to ive found a combination of gels and creams to stop this

i first put on nivea for men extra soothing moisturiser (ten mins before a shower)

i then get showered

then i use simple for men sensetive gel (100% fragrance free)

then after the shave i use an exfoilating face scrub on my neck

then use gilettes fusion hydra cool after shave gel

i also use a mac3 turbo shaver

this all sounds like a lot of trouble for a shave (i only shave every few days lol), but if anyone suffers with razor burn will know what its like to have it and its very uncomfortable to have both visually and physically

ive tried all kinds of gels foams aftershave's and so on and think this is the best combo yet

ummmm laydeez hair conditioner - thats what porn stars use ;)

no redness or rash

Not that Ive tried of course......

pmsl, i use ourlasses lady shave for down there lol

And you should see his Bikini line

What about waxing Allan?

Apparently you should shave with hot water, but I don't know I never had rash.

What I do is shave strait out of the shower and run the hot tap, I use K series gel and make sure the blade is hot and then shave with the grain not against it.

But like i said I have never had a shavers rash.

Not sure about that, i watched something on TV a while back to do with male grooming and the advice was not to shave with water too hot as this causes fine red vains to perminantly appear on the face and cheeks?

cant use an electric shaver, just not good enough for me lol

nah there for pussys,i mean dry shave with a mach3 and done this since i was 17

I'd ditch the "then after the shave i use an exfoilating face scrub on my neck" or if you must do this then exfoliate before shaving as i occasionally do....

Then, Hot (practically boiling!)water to shave, and then cool the face with cold, cold water before applying a moisturising shave gel...

Quite liberating giving advice on male grooming! If the mrs sees this thread though i'll be ripped to shreds!

I cut myself all the time but the only thing i can find to stop it is have a hot steamy shower so it opens the pores, softens the beard, gets some steam in the air then run a scolding hot sink of water and let the razor (mach3 turbo) sit until it gets hot then use the hard stubble mach 3 gel and shave with the direction of the hair.

Never cut myself now and no irritation

never had a problem but can imagine, currently sporting a ginger beard with brown head hair, too lazy to shave it off

I find the Gillette razors give me a rash and changed to a Wilkinson Sword Quattro a couple of years ago and wouldn't go back.

The tiny wires on the blades stop it cutting or scraping your skin, it's a smoother shave and as a bonus the blades are a lot cheaper too :)

P.S You're all puffs

I used to suffer from it and being in the mob(and shaving every day) meant finding away around it.

First of all make sure your razor blades are sharp and clean, dont let your missus use them to scrape her minge and trust me she will think nothing of shaving her twat with a razor that you are about to put next to your face (filthy creatures).

I have found it best to shower before shaving as the warm water and soapy bubbles help to soften the skin and stubble. Then apply your shaving soap and proceed to shave taking care to always go with the grain.

Next and I find this most important is to wash off with clean warm water this keeps the pores open if you start washing off with cold water you will simply trap shaving foam and or dead skin cells inside your pores. Remember warm water to rinse off - trust me on this. Whenever I was on excercise and had to shave using cold water i would end up with razor burn.

I used to use Nivea aftershave lotion stuff for sensitive skin (the one in the white bottle) but I have found recently that it is bringing me out in little spots so have stopped using it now. Just remember the newly shaved skin is delicate and tender so try to make a point of not rubbing your face with dirty hands and you should be fine.

PS - For preference I use a single bladed 3-piece razor as they dont shave as close to the skin and are less likey to cause hairs to turn and start to grow inwards which can cause further problems and irritation.

and remember clean warm water to rinse off with and keep your razor blades under lock and key if you have to
