i get shaving rash (on my neck lol) realy bad, my neeck goes really red and spotty after ive had a shave, it becomes very irratable

for anyone else this happens to ive found a combination of gels and creams to stop this

i first put on nivea for men extra soothing moisturiser (ten mins before a shower)

i then get showered

then i use simple for men sensetive gel (100% fragrance free)

then after the shave i use an exfoilating face scrub on my neck

then use gilettes fusion hydra cool after shave gel

i also use a mac3 turbo shaver

this all sounds like a lot of trouble for a shave (i only shave every few days lol), but if anyone suffers with razor burn will know what its like to have it and its very uncomfortable to have both visually and physically

ive tried all kinds of gels foams aftershave's and so on and think this is the best combo yet

i used to get that , then i just starting shaving in freezing cold water, closes off the pores and stiffens the hairs, never had it since!

I don't shave. I just use a beard trimmer on the lowest setting once in a while when I can be bothered.

Just a lazy git really.

tried that and it didnt work

I used to bleed like baby with a razor then I discovered an electric wet/dry shaver. I use it in the shower and can shave every day quick and simple with no blood.

Andy

Apparently you should shave with hot water, but I don't know I never had rash.

What I do is shave strait out of the shower and run the hot tap, I use K series gel and make sure the blade is hot and then shave with the grain not against it.

But like i said I have never had a shavers rash.

my problem is after shaving the hairs start to grow and lie flat and grow into the next pore along , if left too long it causes great pain and i get a few ingrowing hairs, have even considered laser hair removal for my face im so pissed off with it, will give your method a try though bud

cant remeber the exact name but it was a nivea exfoliating scrub, will have a look the next time i get some (ran out the other day and threw tube out, but know what it looks like lol)

Best shaving advice I ever got was to get lots of hot water on the stubble just before shaving. It really softens in up and makes for less burn.

Not sure that exfoliating scrub is helping you though - but maybe it is! I'm no expert.

Hot water on face before you shave, then as you shave, rinse the razor in cold water (hot makes it expand and temporarily less sharp).

yup exfoliate after shaving and it gets rid of dead skin cells which can cause rash and stop further stubble form growing outwards of your skin :D
