The problem is as you have said ^^ people replace a bearing or 2 from underside of car with sump off, refit and within 100miles or less it can go again, as there may be some damage to the crank, ideally your looking at engine out bottom end stripped, crank measured and possibly re-ground, main/big end bearings, gaskets etc, you then have to think why did the bearing/s fail in the first place oil starvation. oil pump, clogged oil feed, IMO i would do the following if it was me!

engine removal

crank checked reground if needed

big and main end bearings

oil pump

rear oil seal

front oil seal

cambelt, tensioner, waterpump, thermo,

relevant gaskets to bottom end

good time to change the turbos, oil feeds :o

bearings can be got from mjp on here, or if someones doing the work, there better of ordering relavant parts same time

check traders section on here for your nearest garage :)

cheers greg

you could risk doing the bearing/s in situ allow a days labour and a few quid for a bearing or 2.

someone will be willing to do it. And its not greatly difficult to tackle yourself, although you will need an engine hoist to hold engine whilst you lower crossmember

if you want a how to email me at greg300zx@hotmail.com

cheers for that greg - i've got the funny feeling i could be in touch if i hit a snag - (more than likely) - gona take engine out i think as gonna put in uprated clutch at the same time, will upgrade tubs end of this year so will then put out engine again as havnt got an extra 2000 grand spare for some 675rs' (think there the ones) - thinking of buying an engine lift - cheap as chips 160 quid - free delivery - bargain
