Thanks for the great meet today, and the kind compliments about the Zed :D

I was very annoyed when the Manager of the Toby Inn that we were at came out to complain about her car park being full of cars

dispite the fact that most people had either eaten or had drinks. ;)

I will be writing to Interbrew about the incident (with spell checker  )

to formaly complain about the hospitality shown to paying customers.

I had dinner with Slick Pete, Boldy, Manta, and respective partner.

Our meal came to £40.00 and £5.00 tip for service (and we collected our food!) also we all had drinks at £2.50 each so we spent between us £55.00

in the pub.

If you attended today can you please put in this thread the amount you

spent in the pub today with your user name and where you came from.

I will include this in my letter.

Yours Disgrunted

Allan

Arent you supposed to clear it with the owners os the pub first before aranging a meet in their pub? in the past we always have.

I know what you mean bud, but I dont think theres any hard n fast rule, at the end of the day 99% of us turned up as "customers" the fact that we all drive the same car is irelevent!

Any how as already said FOOK EM!

No we havent.

the pubs we use are all open to the public.... We are "the public".

the cars parks provided by the pubs all state " for patrons/customers only."......thats fine, we all park up and buy a drink and/or food.So we are patrons/customers.

As said , its irrelevant that we all turn up in a similar car .

It would be a different matter if we just parked up in a pub car park and didnt purchase any food or drinks. And thats something we need to bear in mind perhaps.

Pete

just got this off the Toby web site

Are you tired of today's artificiality and rush? Indulge that Sunday-feeling every day at Toby, and bring some well-deserved balance to your busy life. Relax and let us make the effort for you.

Here at Toby Carvery we're proud of our real food, our friendly welcome and relaxed atmosphere. We're the ideal place to come to if you're looking for a generous meal that's also great value. If you want to meet up with your family and friends for a celebration meal, or have a quick bite of lunch, or simply spend some time out for a few drinks then Toby's the place for you.

PMSL maybe Watchdog need to be involved

Im not siding with the pub, but sureley we should arrange meets at places that welcome our custom.

I just thought its common courtesey to get the publicans permission if theres going to be quite a lrg gathering, thats whats been done at the boat and the bubble etc and everything has gone smoothly.

When you do complain, why not stress the positives as well as the negatives and leave them a dignified way out so you can use the place again (hopefully with 50% off next time as a goodwill gesture).

Well thats just not correct. Last time we went to the Boat some mouthy assistant came out and asked us what we were doing. scrawni had the video camera out and the mouthy git said... "have you got permission to film here???"

So we havent been back there again.

the situation at Stenson Bubble is entirely unique.

Its an agreed monthly meet for several Jap car clubs. Its not really anything directly to do with Midlands group of 300ZX co.uk.

If you read this quote from toby inns team you can see that there is no obligation to "call in advance". They supposedly "welcome" groups of friends.

Maybe in future we will call in advance just to make sure.

The great pity about this incident is the fact that this particular Toby carvery really is in a brilliant location for meets, just off the motorways and accessable from the whole Midlands area and further afield too.

Hmm well we'll see if they say anything in reply that might get them back into our good books ;)

Well just so!

Maybe we might get banned from ALL TOBY INNS

What a load of *****cks WHY SHOULD YOU HAVE TO RING

50 of us went to Damons the other Day (for a Birthday)

If we had all had the same Car SHOULD WE HAVE RUNG AHEAD

Should we fook

Easy solution is for someone to lend Tooley their car and let him go to the carpark - he'd soon terrorise the bitch :D

Hi,

I nipped along to this meeting in order to collect some parts and only stayed for a quick drink in the pub and left soon after.Virtually every 300ZX owner appeared to be either drinking or eating in the pub, so I can't see what the problem was?

The Heart Of England Z (Club)Group have used this venue many times over the years to meet up, though admittedly with a smaller number of cars.

I see that they have barriers on the entances to the car park now, so perhaps they've had trouble with local yoofs meeting up there and using the car park for motorised mayhem?

I doubt if you'd been driving MGs or the like, you would have had the same response though!

Cheerz,

Jez.
