Thanks for the great meet today, and the kind compliments about the Zed :D

I was very annoyed when the Manager of the Toby Inn that we were at came out to complain about her car park being full of cars

dispite the fact that most people had either eaten or had drinks. ;)

I will be writing to Interbrew about the incident (with spell checker  )

to formaly complain about the hospitality shown to paying customers.

I had dinner with Slick Pete, Boldy, Manta, and respective partner.

Our meal came to £40.00 and £5.00 tip for service (and we collected our food!) also we all had drinks at £2.50 each so we spent between us £55.00

in the pub.

If you attended today can you please put in this thread the amount you

spent in the pub today with your user name and where you came from.

I will include this in my letter.

Yours Disgrunted

Allan

Indeed. the correct response. Im sorry I had to leave early and didnt see the incident but I hope everyone will post up roughly what they spent.

speaking for us all I have to say we are a well behaved peacable group of people.

we park responsibly,we spend good money and we dont upset or intimidate our fellow pub users.

This is the second time a little "unpleasant incident" has occured with staff with a bad attitude.

Im in agreement with your actions.

Lucky chunk didnt go, that would be a fookin big post!

Plus you lot would have got no dinner!!!!

I spent £20.00 on drinks as I bought some for others as well as my self and my dinner bill came to £35.50 for 5 people plus my friends got in a round or 2 so call theres at least £10.00 makes my total come to £65.50

We came approx 100 miles from the NW and spent £85 in total between 7 adults and 1 child.

Thats outragous, cant believe how badley you guys were treated, I would take the complaint all the way.

im sure Alan/Gruntpa will.

the mouthy baitch will soon regret her actions.

pmsl

Put a bit of a dampener on a great meat, lovely day for it too.

Our table all had the 8 pound roast plus a drink each maybe more

For me and my bro we spent £20 between the two of us

I bought 3x rounds of drinks @ £13/round and bought 2x adult meals and 2x kids meals which came to £28 plus tip, all in all I spent about £75 on the 4 of us.

I reckon out of the 14-15 cars that turned up at least 20 people ate food and even more bought drinks.

The manageress was out of order imho.

I completely agree about her being out of order. i don't think it helped that a few people parked over two parking spaces but still there were fook loads of spaces there and we brought in a few hundred quid for them that day

Altough I wasn't able to attend, from reading the thread, the manageress (or whatever she was) was completely out of order, she should be grateful that people decided to use her restaurant. From the photos, can't see what she has to complain about, there seemed to be enought parking for everyone. I would suggest that she be sent on a Customer Service course, that should teach her a thing or two. Having been in the hositality trade myself, I never have dreamed of complaining that the car park was full of cars, different thing if you didn't eat and drink there, if it has been been I would have welcomed you with open arms as it means my profit is up for the day.

I paid the bill for our table which was £40 with the drinks. This was Nick, his bro, dcarey and me so add another £20 for us two.

When we said that we had just spent £500 in the pub she replied "You have not!"

I asked her if she wanted to see my recipt and she stomped off!

I think the supra club turning up at the same time was the problem, between both clubs we probably had about a 3rd of the spaces in the car park when we were all there. They took up more space than us, not sure if they had any food?

thats what i was thinking, im imagining that people were going in saying that 'those cars are taking up all the space' when in fact we were eating there and the mk 3s weren't. dont forget about the smart street car meet - they took up almost 4 spaces

Perhappes she was just work shy and didn't want a nice large group to spoil her lazy day.

Some places really don't like car clubs turning up they think its going to cause problems and scare off their usual crowd but, a customer is a customer not matter how much he or she spends.

Come to the Hatchgate they love to see their carpark full of nice cars and are always willing to do whatever they can for potential customers.

Well I spent £30 in food and more in drinks.

I can see her point if we were there obstucting the car park but we were not, I think she must have had a telling off from the other pub she mentioned but curtisey cost nothing and her manner has just cost her customers.

I have spoken to one of the guys in the Supra club and she had a go at them too, but they just explained that there was no places in the pub to sit and have a meal so they couldn't eat if they wanted to.

Oh well thats two clubs that wont go back.

Add another £5 to that as i had a couple of drinks/snacks while waiting for others to turn up

Unusual for me but I didnt eat however I spent £6 :o

Most people I asked had enjoyed the food, so how many would have recomended it to others? cant see anyone sending anyone now or use having another meet there, still we'll wait for the response from grunta's letter.

I could throw a brick through the window :x: :D

We paid for the drinks seperately, but in total It must have been around £30. When I paid for the food (£16 - but gave £20), I actually had to ask for my £4 change back - excuse given was that she was not sure which table we were at, as we were talking to Ceejay and Shel. That was the manageress

She was also rude to Ceejay when he'd moved his chair over to talk to us as 'there's some more customers coming to this table' :slap:

Daft bint needs to go back to checking her customer services skills :nono: (says she whos company go delivering converted rocket robin reliants on national tv :o :o ) oh the shame!!

Completely agree with all that,s been said , if we were sat in the beer garden i bet nothing would have been said , just cos we were by our cars they take the hump :nono: :xxx: Fook em , it,s their loss :D

Arent you supposed to clear it with the owners os the pub first before aranging a meet in their pub? in the past we always have.
